Today’s writing prompt asks what book is next on your reading list.
Oh my! For those of you who aren’t quite the voracious reader (or maybe the appropriate word is book aquirer?) that I am, “tbr” stands for “to be read.” All readers have such a thing and talk about the number of books on it.
So I can guess that my next book will be E O Wilson, which is an anthology of 3 of his famous works: Biophilia, The Diversity of Life, and Naturalist. (Again, for those who might be unfamiliar with Wilson, while yes, he is a noted scientist and naturalist, but he is also the first “ant” guy–hence my love for him! His writing is riveting).
But I have so many other choices too! I have 2 of Margaret Renkl’s books just waiting. I have Stanley Tucci’s food memoir, along with those of Lidia Bastianich and Lori Colwin.
I have the catalog from the recent show at the Wadsworth Atheneum, a lovely book about Italian women artists from 1500-1800.
And that’s just some of the non-fiction. But I will stop right there–because if I don’t, how will I ever have time to read?
