Herbs are one of my favorite things to grow. They’re simple, undemanding, forgiving of watering practices, many are perennials in my climate (so long as I grow them in the ground) and for those that aren’t, I grow them as container plants that winter over fairly easily for me.
This is a harvest of bay leaves from 1 branch of my bay plant. It was getting too large for its container, and this one branch really looked awkward. So rather than transplanting, I pruned and am now drying the bay leaves.
Honestly I had no idea there would be quite so many. The branch didn’t look that big when I pruned it. But that’s okay. I will share with friends and relatives once they’re dried. Otherwise this harvest could last me a lifetime!
