Wordless Wednesday–Real Plants Instead of Plastic

Less than a week ago I had photos from our local mall of the most dreadful plastic plants.

These are from an atrium of a building in West Hartford center. They never see a hint of natural light–and barely get any artificial light either. I had to touch them to believe they were real.

And most of these are plants that clean the air as well. Beautiful job!

They get cycled through regularly. They are at their prime when the get installed, and then are kept alive as long as possible, but eventually get replaced. They could not have grown like that in that situation. They were greenhouse grown. They are nice though, and certainly much better than those others. Oh my!

Of course you are right. I know of several commercial plant maintenance companies very nearby, which is why I am even more outraged by those plastic monstrosities at Westfarms. I mean, the mall was a former farm. The owners must be spinning in their graves like rotisseries at the insult.
