I recently acquired this clivia after not having one for many years. I had had 2 for quite some time but I accidentally left them out too long one fall and that was the end of that (Clivias require a period of chilling to set their buds). SO it’s great to have one back again. They are hard to find at a reasonable price.
It may be a little hard to see what’s going on here, but I have two blooming amaryllis right now–see the pots on the floor? Even though this has been a relatively easy winter, it’s great to have this color right now!
Here’s a close-up of the flowers. These are both ‘Appleblossom.’ I have a red variety coming along behind them.
This is an oncidium. It’s not labeled so I have no idea of the variety but it’s wonderfully fragrant, as many oncidium are. That’s a nice bonus.
While its flowers are not as long-lived as the phalaenopsis, this plant does have a second spike starting to grow so I will have another set of blooms coming along shortly. These plants are also relatively easy to get to rebloom so long as the fat pseudo-bulbs are not permitted to dry completely and wither.
