I’m always amazed when I get to see wild life up close and personal. And while this lovely female red tailed hawk wasn’t all that close–she was in a tree outside my office window–she was certainly closer than most of the hawks I see through my car window as I’m driving down the highway!
This appears to be a semi-regular perch for her, judging by the mess under the tree. I even once found her dining on a squirrel under this same tree. Apparently these are good hunting grounds and our semi-urban squirrels are slow and complacent. Good for her.
